CAST IRON WHEEL CASTINGS
for GWR 4-6-0 Hall class, early locos, at least No 4901 (not the prototype) at 1:32

(The prototype Hall, No 4900/ex Saint 2925 had these driving wheels but 3′ 2″ bogie wheels, not 3′ 0″)
(Later Halls had wheels with pin between and reinforced spokes).

See photo. of No. 4901 in Russell, A pictorial record of Great Western Engines, vol. 2, p. 161.

The photo in Russell shows No 4901 with the pin in line on unreinforced drivers. I do not know which others had similar wheels. Photos in Locos Illus No 140 Swindon's New Century part 3 show that at least two Locos of the first production lot, Locos 4921 and 4954 had the later Collett reinforced drivers.
Haresnape shows Nos 5943 and 5955 also with the later Collett reinforced drivers.

A full set consists of 4 x P19 leading, 6 x P327 driving and 6 x P20 tender wheels.

The prototype driving wheel weights are surface mounted plates, and are not cast in.
