Fitted with a 4 amp Soundtraxx Tsunami 2 DCC decoder on each motor for digital dynamic exhaust (DDE) and enhanced braking. A single decoder will power both motors running light, but flashes the headlights and cuts out under load. With two decoders the loco will spin its wheels against a rigid obstacle.
The plastic pillars which are used to screw the top of the body to the bottom can become brittle and crack away from the lower part. They can be replaced by machining a new pillar from brass which is then screwed in place like the original, but is held to the lower end by a purpose made wide headed screw.
