The permissive paths on each side of Mill Lane follow routes agreed between the landowners and Defra
in a scheme which expired in September 2011. The landowners have since voluntarily allowed temporary permissive access to these paths, while retaining the right to
close them at any time and not granting a permanent public right of way. Thanks are due to the landowners, Gray and Dale Farms for providing these
useful links between existing public footpaths.
(As of 15 Oct 2013).
Gray and Dale Farms had allowed similar temporary access to a path beside Cobb's Lakes. That land was sold in 2018, and in April that year the path was blocked with a sign forbidding public access.
